Learn to Quilt with Gail

Registration is closed for this event

Learn the fundamentals of quilting by creating a Honey Bee quilt block wall hanging.  Making this manageable wall hanging is how the instructor learned to quilt from her sewing mentor.  We will complete the stages of quilt construction by learning about quilting vocabulary, tools, fabric selection, cutting, piecing, pressing, sewing, appliqueing, quilting and binding.  This class is definitely for beginning quilters so bring your seam ripper and come learn this fun textile craft.

Expenses:  The instructor will discuss what students will need to purchase at the first class, expect to spend $50-100 on supplies and tools.

Prerequisite: Skill level – basic straight stitch sewing ability.  Must have a sewing machine that you are used to sewing on with accurate tension.  Straight stitch function and possibly free motion.  1/4” presser foot.

Gail is a retired elementary teacher and has been a quilter 20+ years.  Through quilting she has been able to explore her creativity, practice perseverance, build brain matter, laugh more and coexist with her quilting imperfections.  Making quilts for family and friends brings her great satisfaction and she enjoys sharing her excitement for quilting with others.
